The Thesis: Operational Competence

The green rush will not last forever and the era of operational competence is coming faster than most operators expect. While our competitors rely on the limited license nature of the industry, our strategy is rooted in history, the unique regulatory framework of the Minnesota OCM, and the long-term direction of the market.

Led by Brandon Van Asten (CPA, ex-MSO Controller), our process prioritizes margin resilience over topline performance and unit economic efficiency. We apply a ruthless process to our operations: question assumptions, delete the unnecessary, and simplify. We focus on what is important, view every expense as an investment, and structure our stores for maximum efficiency in labor and customer flow. We are mindfully deploying a lean, scalable machine designed to capture more than average market share.

“The black market and intoxicating hemp industry operate in the shadows. We operate in the light. Our mission is to replace your dealer by providing a safe, legal, and reliable experience that Minnesotans deserve.”

Strategic Roadmap: Phase 1

Wisconsin Border 2 of 5 potential stores

The Minnesota/Wisconsin border is appealing since municipalities can limit the number of stores to 1 per 12,500 residents and visitors offer additional upside. Although there are long-term uncertainties with operating on a border, they offer clear short/medium term upside and the long-term advantage of operating in a more mature market. This is not the core long-term strategy of My Dealer, but due to the more competitive nature of obtaining these locations, we focused our attention here first as this was our only shot at organically locating in this compelling area of the state.

Creativity thrives on constraints and limitations force creativity. We use the unique regulatory constraints of the state market as an advantage by leveraging our understanding to benefit us. As the cannabis supply chain matures, prices fall and volumes increase.
